How do you best respond to the criticism that Bitcoin was designed to be a currency by Satoshi Nakamoto but it has failed in that regard

I hear many times the following criticism : Bitcoin was designed to be a currency – Bitcoin can’t be a day-to-day currency and has many disadvantages compared to fiat currencies for daily transactions. Thus, Bitcoin is currently not used as per what is what meant to be by Satoshi Nakamoto, it’s not used as per what it was designed for.

This is a valid criticism, we are inclined to treat Bitcoin as something you hold over long periods of time and don’t touch it, contrary to what a day-to-day currency is used for. Even if I had a chance to pay my daily groceries with BTC without paying any transaction fee, I wouldn’t do it.

Thus, BTC has deviated from what it was meant to be by design and has turned into a digital asset similar to Gold that you buy hoping to beat inflation and to earn money.
