How is Bitcoin distribution different from Fiat?

I'm no expert so please forgive me if I get some things wrong here.
I used to hear a lot of people describing Bitcoin and the future implementation as a sort of revolution from the bottom up. The old system will fall and many people told me that the new system would be better and fairer.

Those who were laughed at when they spend a hundred bucks on "imaginary money" are now laughing at those who didn't.

Many people that were looking at a life of hardship have made a lot of money and continue to do so.

However, when I look at the distribution of Bitcoin, less than a million wallets seem to hold a whole coin which is currently only 35,000$.
Less than a million out of 170 million "economically relevant" wallets.
Less than a million people out of 8 billion.
Most people seem to buy their crypto rather than mining it so the days were you could just do that seem to be over also and we are back to exchanging labor for currency (correct me if I'm wrong).

How is this different than working for Fiat other than that we can reasonably hope to be rewarded for adapting early? Are we just hoping to be the privileged rather than the unprivileged instead of trying to get rid of privilege itself?
Looking at the people around me, my impression is that many of those that have a coin or more would have been affluent without crypto also so while it certainly made some poor people rich, it seems to mostly be making rich people richer.

I feel like I'm not seeing something here and would love to get some insight.

Thank you very much.
