Need help on how to get through to my parents

So to preface this, I don't really know a lot about Crypto but even for me, this smells like an obvious scam.

Apparently some acquaintance told them about this new great thing called SanusLife where he gets cashback in the form of their own cryptocurrency called SanusCoin. And through that and buying some himself he's supposedly now at 30.000 euros, but he can't cash that money out because apparently he has to wait for some weird app to launch, that's called SanusPay (that apparently very recently launched) and then he can sell his Coins or exchange them for Bitcoin. But also not really, because the only people that can apparently buy them, are people who also have the Sanus app and almost all of them are sitting on huge amounts of them because they got them for free via the cashback thing.

If I'm understanding this whole thing correctly, the original business was selling water filters and then they launched this whole thing.

Their owner is saying that his Cryptocurrency is even better than Bitcoin but major differences between the two are, that SanusCoin apparently doesn't use Blockchain or at least there's no evidence of that. Their code isn't open source so no one knows what's exactly going on. Their Sanuscoin also isn't created via mining because the CEO just created it with the push of a button and said that there's a certain amount of it and that's it. Also the value of the coin seems to be completely made up, because if no one outside of their system can buy them how would they determine the current rates. I also couldn't find what their current exchange rates are.

No matter from what angle I look at it, it seems like an obvious scam unless I'm just not seeing the bigger picture but I would really appreciate your opinions, because I wasn't able to find a lot about it online. There was one post on this a few months ago in this sub so it seemed like the best place to ask. Thank you.
